Sincere Gratitude

I have often heard that we never really truly know who loves us, or the depth of their compassion, until tragedy strikes.  The people who hold our hands through the storm are the ones who will eternally hold us in their hearts.  My life has been so blessed, but in the few tragedies that have occurred, I have always been humbled by the generosity and compassion of others.  Today, Claire and Erin shared with me so much about the way others have touched their lives and softened the blow that cancer has struck.

Before I begin with our sincere thanks and gratitude, I must make one small plea.  I am a teacher, a mom, a wife, a daughter, a friend, and a bit overloaded lately.  I want to thank so many people and businesses, but I know that I will forget some.  Please extend your understanding and forgiveness when I forget a business or act that has blessed my friends. Please e-mail me at kimleighty@comcast.net to share with me a company that needs to be added to the list.

The following businesses have been instrumental in helping Erin and Claire.
Sincere thank you to:

Great American Construction Company
Jenny's Diner
Pink!
Bliss Hair Studio
Nodland Wine Cellars
Paint in My Hair
Mercer Trucking (storage compartment donation)
Serena Thompson and the Farm Chicks
The Bigelow Gulch Grange
Spokane Rainmaker
Nichole Mischke and KHQ television
Pacific Company Sportswear
Cancer Care Northwest
Cancer Patient Care
Sidebar and Grill
Cashmere Skin and Body
North Spokane Women's Health
Spokane Area Volleyball Referee Association
White Cross Pharmacy in Priest River
Robert Gayda with Bubbleland Laundry

Along with the many companies that have supported our friends, so many individuals and families have helped them through the past few months.  There are way too many people to name individually, but please know we are grateful for everything.  Erin and Claire have received numerous checks, substantial donations to the fund, cards, care packages, meals, babysitting (thanks Kate and Dan!!!), e-mails, calls, and much, much more.  We are all sincerely grateful for your outpouring of support and love.  Every bit of it has helped lift these two amazing women.  It is often said that it takes a village to raise a child.  I think it takes a whole damn continent to fight the evils of cancer.  So, thank you for reaching out to these two incredible women.

As we are following the theme of gratitude, I feel compelled to share a few stories.  First, I must say thank you to my work family at Prairie View Elementary where I teach.  So many friends at Prairie View, who have never met Erin or Claire, have brought meals, left blank checks in my mailbox for the fund, ordered t-shirts, and shared a hug or prayer with me.  The outpouring of love from my Prairie View family includes coworkers, families of my students, and PTO friends.  I am so humbled by your love and support.  One of my coworkers had asked me what the best way to support Erin was.  Unfortunately, that e-mail got lost in the shuffle.  I am trying so hard to keep my family and classroom afloat, while stretching my talents as a blog writer and sharing a few "two-armed" hugs with Erin and Claire.  That friend, showed up in my classroom after school today with a generous check for Erin.  She said Erin could use that money however she wanted.  I cashed it on my way home, drove to Erin's and handed her the money.  It felt incredible to share that with her and know that people all over Spokane and all over the country are reaching out to my sweet friends, even if they don't know them.

Shortly after that donation, another friend of mine asked me to go to her house to pick up some things for the tag sale.  She graciously donated a wine basket for the raffle, another couple bottles for my sanity (thank you!!!!) and a bottle for me to share with Erin and Claire, and was trying to give me more!!!  I cannot tell you how much that gift meant to all of us. Tonight, we sipped that amazing wine and brainstormed about all the miraculous ways people have shared compassion.  Thank you for looking out for all of us and holding my friends, their family, and I in your thoughts and prayers.

Erin and Claire have some great ideas for their fund.  Of course, medical bills are at the top of the list, but in addition to that, they will be using the money for kid stuff for Gavin and Landon - both of their birthdays are coming and Christmas is right around the corner, yoga classes they plan to take together, and some acupuncture they would like to try.  All of these are amazing things.  Thank you for helping to make that possible.

One last note of thanks from me specifically..... thank you for the personal e-mails, calls, wine, and cards to me.  I write this blog because I love Erin and Claire and because I truly enjoy writing.  I am so glad that their loved ones can peek on here for updates while these two beautiful ladies focus on healing.  I know beyond a shadow of a doubt, that if the shoe was on the other foot, Erin would be doing all of this and more for me.  Please, hug your loved ones, appreciate each day, and keep sending a prayer or two to my sweet friends.  Thank you for looking out for all of us.  Tragedy really does highlight the best in humanity. Thank you.
With gratitude and humility,
Kim

Doing Well!!!

UGH, I haven't seen Claire or Erin all week!  What a busy time of year for this frazzled teacher!  In any case, I have heard Claire is handling the aftermath of chemo very well.  She has been very tired, but otherwise ok.  Claire said she is experiencing no nausea, just some exhaustion, and life is better than expected.  Whew!  I pray for these gals constantly and hope things continue on a good path.  As far as I know, there is no chemo this week.  Erin's next round should be the following week and Claire the week after that.  Please continue to keep these strong, incredible women in your thoughts and prayers.

Some dear friends of Erin and I will be manning the storage compartment at the Grange next Saturday from 10-2.  Any donations will be accepted for the tag sale.  Thanks!!!

An Interview and A Fool!

This past weekend, Erin and Claire sat down with Nichole Mischke from KHQ News in Spokane.  I am so proud of these strong women for sharing their unbelievable story.  Without question, their promotion of breast cancer awareness will be saving lives.  That is just one of the many good things that has come from this horrible journey.  Thank you Erin and Claire for having the courage and strength to share your story.  You are truly saving lives.  Please peek at their interview at http://www.khq.com/category/195686/video-landing-page?clipId=7873174&autostart=true  Thanks!!!

(****Small profanity warning..... those sensitive to my trucker mouth should stop reading now.****)

Now..... on to the awesome part of this story.  My only preface to this part is that self-deprecation is one of my strongest and most valued traits.... so on we go...

On Saturday, I picked up the flowers and balloons from Jenny's Diner to deliver to Erin and family after the fundraiser.  It was really fun playing Santa Claus!!  I stumbled up to the door loaded down with a bright pink balloon bouquet fighting to be free in the gusting wind, a vase of flowers that was slipping a little in my hand, and a dessert my cousin had sent for the family precariously balanced in my other hand.  Truly, I should have taken a couple of trips, especially with the wind pelting the balloons into my face and clouding my vision.  I banged on the door with my foot and was let in by Claire.

Erin was visiting with a friend and was dressed up.  Typically, I see Erin and her mom in sweats or jeans and never with make up on.  Both looked perfect.  I peeked over at Erin, who is stunningly beautiful and said, "Wow, you are a hot piece of ass in that wig."  Really appropriate, right?  But, she was absolutely gorgeous and needed to know.  Of course, she needed to hear it in a way that would be fitting coming from her foul mouthed friend.

As Erin was chattering with her friend, I was being extremely mouthy with Claire.  We were sharing some stories and I was educating her on some finer profanity she hadn't learned yet.  Truly, profanity that not even I can repeat on here.  (Sorry, my own folks read this blog....  I can't explain this one to them, too!)  In any case, Erin and her friend kept talking and eventually I started noticing that along with the nice attire and make-up, the house was completely spotless.  Erin's friend seemed to have a lot of curious questions, too, more than most of her visitors.  At that point, I thought maybe the friend was recently diagnosed and just wanted to know what to expect.  Yep, real genius here, not cluing in at all!!!  Then, the friend made a comment about having enough for a story and closed the open lap top on the ottoman that I hadn't even noticed.  Oh dear LORD!  I just called my friend, you know... the bald one with cancer, a "hot piece of ass" and shared some of the dirtiest profanity I know with her mom.... all while being recorded!!!  I turned a million shades of bright red and instantly started stammering.  I am so glad those parts of the interview didn't end up on the news!!!  I must say, I felt like a huge arse, but I would totally make a fool out of myself again just to hear that tumultuous laughter from our gals.  I'm pretty sure we all giggled so hard we cried.  And, thank you, Nichole, for not including that in your fantastic story!  I truly loved watching your coverage and am so glad you got a chance to meet these courageous women.  For the rest of you, truly, peek at the interview and just try to disagree with my comment.  Erin really was one hot piece of ass!!!

P.S. Our dear friend Roz (the t-shirt coordinator) had surgery yesterday.  If you ordered shirts that need shipping, please extend your patience.  Hopefully, those orders will be shipped next week.  Thanks so much for your understanding.

Claire Chemo Day and More

Today was Claire's first time facing chemo.  I am so proud of her.  I know that deep in her soul, Claire would rather try anything else BUT chemotherapy.  Her oncologist shared with her that trying other, more homeopathic methods of cancer treatment could possibly waste her time in facing this horrible cancer monster.  I know it was so hard for Claire, but the words, "This is your one chance to fight," hit deep in her mom and grandma heart.  Without question, Claire faced chemo for her kids and grandkids.  So, so proud of her.

By all accounts, Claire's day went well.... or as well as six hours of IV meds can go!!!  She spent her chemo day with Erin, David, and her sister, Diana.  I'm glad she had such loving family to hold her up during this emotional and exhausting first day.  Spending her day with them and kicking her sister's buns at cribbage must have made this day better than she would have expected.  Hang in there, Claire.  We love you and will hold your hand through all of this!!!

Erin found out some interesting news.  She received her genetic testing results.  Surprisingly, Erin does not carry the gene, meaning that her cancer is not genetic.  Random.  At this point, I really don't understand it and I am not sure how that might change her treatment plans, but will post as I hear more.  Hopefully, this is good news.

I feel so lucky to be Erin's friend and am beginning to consider Claire to be my second mother.  On so many levels, I appreciate both of them.  Today, I appreciated being able to see how much others care and love these awesome ladies.  I made a deposit into Erin and Claire's benefit account and was shocked to see that it has doubled in the last couple of weeks.  Thank you all so much!  The money will definitely come in handy for this sweet family as they continue to fight this horrid illness.  Thank you for the fundraisers, shirt orders, donations, and prayers.  These two women are seriously going to kick some cancer butt.....

The Shirts are Here!!

The shirts are here!!!  They are absolutely perfect!!  (AND pretty darling on my friend's little gal!!!)  Thank you to Jeff Valley at Pacific Company Sportswear for designing and printing these shirts for us.  Jeff generously donated these shirts to us at cost, and threw in his time and labor free of charge.  The benefit fund for Erin and Claire is growing by the minute with the sale of these awesome shirts!  Please keep his company in mind if ever in need of custom shirts.  www.pacificcompany.net (487-4189)  Thank you Jeff and Pacific Company Sportswear!!!

Roz and I sorted through the orders on Friday night.  As we dove through the boxes, the shirts were literally hot off the presses.  It was pretty incredible.  Once we had them sorted, we took the family's shirts to Erin's house.  Within minutes her awesome dad had his on....  LOVE IT, especially with jammie pants.

Thank you to PINK! and Jenny's Diner

My apologies to the shop, PINK!.  I forgot to post that they are donating a portion of their profits as well.  PINK! is located at 154 S Madison.  They are open 10-4 Wednesday through Saturday.  PINK! sells antiques, furniture, art, and more.  Although I haven't been there in person, everything I am finding on-line shows this business to be a fun eclectic mix of unique items.  I definitely will be adding it to my list of places I must check out.  Thank you to this wonderful store for supporting our friend and my apologies for not posting sooner.

Thank you to Jenny's Diner for the special fundraiser today.  Erin, her dad, her friend Ward, and I shared a delicious breakfast this morning.  I would highly recommend any breakfast with their delicious, crispy hash browns.  YUM!!!  Although, Ward's bacon waffle looked pretty darn amazing, as well.  Thank you Colleen and crew for all of your hard work.  We had a great time and ate like kings.

Eventful Monday for Mom and Daughter

Erin had her third round of chemo yesterday.  It isn't quite as easy this time as the second round.  Somehow, she and I both were struggling with insomnia at 2:00 a.m. last night and randomly started texting each other.  She was up feeling nauseous and exhausted.  I just couldn't fall back to sleep.  Ironic and a little spooky.  Erin said the chemo procedure itself went fine, but this time she is feeling shaky and nauseous.  I'm hoping that the next few days are better than today...and that we both sleep through the night.  Erin has a huge desire to keep things real with the blog and share all sides of her journey.  Her father sent me this picture from the chemo room.  So, so proud of my beautiful friend.

Claire had an eventful day as well.  While her daughter was in chemo, Claire was scheduled for surgery.  She had her port surgically implanted and had sentinel node removal surgery.  The same doctor who performed the similar surgery on Erin, did Claire's surgery.  Claire handled it well and is experiencing no pain thus far.  Thank goodness!!!  She is in good hands with her sisters at Erin's home.

So, through all the crud and trials, Erin and Claire amaze me with their positive outlook and spunky personalities.  Recently, the three of us measured our heads so Alex could deliver hats from his school.  (By the way.... thanks, Alex!!!  Same colors as my school and our initials are PV as well.  LOVE IT!!)  Anyway, we discovered that Erin has a pin head, Claire has a fat head, and.... well... my head is just perfect..... says me, of course!  So, I kept teasing them, Pinhead, Fathead, and Perfect.  Well, Claire is absolutely tiny, except for her head.  She eats well and really is a slim gal.  And, truthfully, you'd never look at her and even consider her head to be large.  Yesterday, her doctor had to use a child's port for her because her frame is so little.   Today, Erin and her aunties have been teasing Miss Claire about her melon and her teeny body.  I'm so glad they can find the humor in these things.  Perhaps that is what I admire most about them!  We all have to laugh sometimes.

Speaking of laughing, Erin sent me a text telling me she "candled" her mom's ears this morning.  HUH???  I told her I had no idea what the heck that meant, but I was fairly certain I wouldn't want her to do it to me.  Well, she cleaned out her mom's ears with hot wax - some naturopathic thing.  AND, now Claire can hear much better.  Those funny ladies.... chemo and surgery one day, hot wax in the ears the next.  I can only imagine what tomorrow will bring!!

On another random note, I found new boobs for Erin and for Claire.  What do you think?  I think they are just perfect for these two amazing ladies!!!

Double *$*&%!!!!!!!

It is with great sadness that I share this news.  Claire, Erin's mother, has been diagnosed with breast cancer as well.  She has the same type of cancer as Erin.  Originally, her doctors told her this was not as severe and could be treated with surgery and radiation.  Claire transferred to Erin's oncologist so they could go together and simplify their schedules.  Erin's oncologist read over the labs and shared that the form of cancer Claire has is actually the same, rare, aggressive breed as Erin's.  Claire will begin her chemo treatments on Monday, October 22nd.  Erin's third round of chemo is this Monday, October 15th.  I shared with Erin that I wish they could have lined them up so they could do it together.  She told me this is better because they can take turns caring for the other during the process.  Their love and devotion for each other is amazing.  I love these two ladies as if they were my own family and pray they both sail through these treatments and reclaim their happy lives, cancer-free.  I am honored that both gals have allowed me to write about their journey and share it on here.  Thank you, Claire.  I know this is not an easy step.  I will do my best to make you proud and be sensitive to your story as well.

Erin's fund at STCU will benefit both mom and daughter.  The profits from our fundraisers and shirt sales will go to that fund.  Roz worked with the t-shirt guy and we made a small change.  I think it is absolutely perfect.

Please continue to keep Erin and Claire in your thoughts and prayers.  Cards are greatly appreciated at 3118 W Grace, Spokane WA 99205. (Claire Bistline)  If you would like to send a meal, please visit our meal calendar.  Claire does not eat dairy, and generally is a fairly healthy eater. She also is an amazing cook, so some fresh produce she can work her magic with is just fine. Meal Calendar

Erin told me that after a hard visit with the oncologist, she and her mom visited the "Essential Women's Boutique."  It is a store that has things women going through chemo might need - wigs, hats, scarves, skin care, etc.  After talking to the women who work there, they learned there is a free cancer store where patients can pick up things without any cost.  Erin and Claire found it and got some great hats, a couple of wigs for Claire, and a scarf or two at no cost.  It sounded like they had a ball just going through things and finding some needed items.  I am really glad they have each other right now.  I suppose that is the silver lining, they will be holding each others hand through every step.  In any case, please keep our gals in your thoughts and prayers.

Rummage Sale Details

The date has been set!!!  The rummage sale to help boost Erin's benefit fund will be at the Bigelow Gulch Grange on Saturday, November 10th.  More details about that day will come.  For now, we need your help with donations for the sale.  Jennifer Walker has arranged for a POD to be donated to store rummage sale donations.  An item collection will be held at the Grange on November 3rd from 10-2.  The POD will be in the parking lot of the Bigelow Grange - 7001 N Bigelow Gulch Road.  If you have items you would like to donate, please bring them by on the 3rd if possible.  The crew will be moving items into the grange and pricing them on November 8th and 9th.  They will be taking donations on those days from 10-2, as well.

As well as the rummage sale, we will be holding a basket raffle on the 10th.  So far, we have a coffee basket, wine basket, jewelry basket, and more being donated.  If you or your business would like to donate a basket, please let me know - kimleighty@comcast.net

We will also be asking for volunteers to help with set-up, pricing, the day of the sale, and clean up after the sale.  Thank you for all of your help and consideration.

Just some stuff.....

Please plan on coming to Jenny's Diner on October 20th, anytime between 6:00 am and 2:00 pm.  Jenny's Diner is located at 1412 W 2nd, Spokane WA, 99201.  A portion of the profits will be deposited in Erin's benefit fund.  So cool!!!!

Guess what??? 124 Boo Bees shirts were ordered in our first round!!  AWESOME!!  We will also be ordering a few additional shirts to sell at functions.  Thank you so much for supporting our sweet gal.  This order has surpassed our expectations!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I have heard from some friends who would like to donate money, in lieu of ordering a shirt, and needed a point in the right direction.  If you would like to donate, please visit any Spokane Teachers Credit Union and ask to donate money to the Erin Broughton Hughes Benefit Fund.  If you cannot make it to a branch, send a check to me at 3228 W Alice, Spokane WA 99205.  Make the checks out to the "Erin Broughton Hughes Benefit fund" and I will deposit them for you.  I was sharing with my son how Erin's account has grown a bit lately and will probably jump with our fundraisers and t-shirt sales.  My sweet 9 year old, grabbed his little money treasure chest and started pulling out his bills and change.  He told me he wanted to give his money to Erin to help her.  I was so touched and completely filled with pride at his kind heart.  The amazing part of this journey is to see the good in people.  I have learned how many people care about Erin and how they will bend over backwards for her, even when they can barely bend at all.  Thank you for caring for my sweet friend as she battles this horrible disease.

Tomorrow night, Erin will be going to a Brandi Carlile concert at the Knitting Factory.  I am so excited for her!!!!  Erin was beaming with excitement as she shared her enthusiasm for this awesome show.  For those of you who don't know, Erin loves Brandi Carlile's music and has been to many of her concerts.  Thank you to her sweet auntie for taking her!

Erin will have chemo this coming Monday.  I started telling her about how that totally sucks and she stopped me and told me it was a good thing.  Keeping in time with her positive outlook, Erin shared with me that this chemo treatment is halfway to the chemo finish line.  I am so, so excited for her.  I am unbelievably proud of her for always finding the silver lining, even when it is way at the edge of miles of thunderclouds.

If you would like to cheer Erin on through this next bout of chemo, please send cards to 3118 W Grace, Spokane WA 99205.  Thanks!  I know each and every note means the world to her.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of hanging out with Erin and her family.  Her mom made an amazing curry noodle dish, that I devoured even though I had dinner before I came!  It was so good!!!  We sampled some red wine and relaxed together.  Gavin, Erin's eleven year old, was happily working away on a Lego kit and wearing a pink ribbon pin.  He told me his mom got it for him and he is going to wear it all of October.  I told him I thought I should find one, too, and he agreed.  Sweet, sweet 6th grade boy.  So proud of him for showing his support for breast cancer awareness.  Landon, Erin's five year old, and I chatted for awhile.  He was telling me about the planets and how he saw an AFV video where the mom tells the daughter the planet names and she repeats them.  The mom says, "Uranus" and the daughter says, "My anus."  Landon giggled like crazy and kept saying it.  I asked him if he knew why that was funny and he said, "Yeah, because that is not the planet's name."  Yep, that is the ONLY reason why it is funny!!!  Pink ribbons and Uranus. Gotta love those boys!!!!!

Fundraisers

Saturday, October 20th, Jenny's Diner in downtown Spokane (1412 W 2nd Ave, 99201) will be hosting a fundraiser for Erin.  A portion of the profits made that day will go directly to her benefit fund.  The cafe will be open from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Come out and support our dear friend!!

A group of us are working on a flea market/rummage sale to benefit Miss Erin.  We will be asking for donations of things we could sell.  Erin loves a bargain and is often found bouncing from yard sale to yard sale on Friday mornings.  Please consider items that we would be able to sell for her.  Be watching the blog.  We are planning on having a collection day for items to be dropped off.  I'll post that information as soon as I get it.  Also, we will be needing some baskets and items to either auction or raffle.  So far, we have a coffee themed basket and a wine themed basket in the works.  If you would like to donate a basket, a gift certificate, or a service, please let me know - kimleighty@comcast.net  Thanks!!!  We are hoping to get our sale scheduled before Christmas.  Also, we will be needing volunteers to help with the day of the event.  If you're interested, please let me know.

Family Time

Erin's family enjoyed a potluck today.  I am so happy for her to feel the love and support from her sweet family and extended relatives.  The happiness on her face speaks volumes to me.  She really is a gorgeous gal.

Chemo, Family, and Silliness, OH MY!!!

This was our day, way back in August, when Erin first faced her battle with chemo.  Why post now?  Well, Erin asked me to share this one.  I am so proud of her desire and strength in wanting to keep things real.  Cancer is an ugly, wretched monster that Erin is conquering with grace and courage.  On this August day, we smiled, cried a little, ate a lot of yummy snacks, took out our frustrations on a mean game of cribbage, laughed with some other people in the chemo room, and deepened our friendship in a very different way than we ever have before.  During her treatment, Erin struggled with benadryl and was given something to counteract the side effects from it.  The result?  Erin was zonked for an hour or two.  She had asked me to take pictures that day....  I kind of felt like a voyeur, but her thought was that she might want these photos later.  So, better to take them and not need them than to skip the pics and then wish she had a way to chronicle her journey.  I must admit, I felt hideous pulling out the camera at such a hard time, but I'm glad I did it for her.

Erin really is an incredible friend.  I feel so fortunate to know her and to be included with her family.  On Monday, my husband ended up in the ER.  He is totally fine, but had a very extreme migraine - his first ever.  Combined with his blood clot and his clotting disorder, I was a touch terrified.  As soon as Erin heard what was going on, she was ready to take my kids, come sit with me at the hospital, get my boys to school in the morning, anything I needed.  Here is a woman battling cancer, struggling with energy and nausea, ready to put it all on the line for my family.  Truly, she is a beautiful woman inside and out.  I won the friend lottery with that one!!!

I was visiting with Erin and her mom the other day and we were talking about how we have all learned so much about giving.  If there is a good side to this nightmare, it is seeing the kindness in others - friends, acquaintances, even strangers.  We have had an awesome response to our shirt sales and are watching as people donate time, food, money, and energy to help out this inspiring gal.  Thank you so much for everything.  That positive energy is more healing than any drug.

So..... some humor.  I guess I really like my red wine..... I mean really, really like my red wine.  I blame it on growing up in a large, rowdy, Catholic family, but whatever it is, I have a thing for it.  I have shown up at Erin's house a few times with a bottle of red in tow.  Yesterday, I was chatting with Claire and sipping some delightful vino.  As we were chatting, Terry, Erin's step-dad, appeared with an empty glass.  We giggled about how I have him trained like Pavlov's dogs.  The instant he hears my obnoxious banter, he finds the wine glass.  I guess there are worse responses to the sound of my voice.... I'm thinking Mary Hart and Kramer...  In any case, thank you Terry for allowing us a chuckle or two at your expense.

Also, Alex flew in last night.  Erin was overflowing with excitement yesterday to see her brother.  On a bit of a dare, David wore Gavin's Darth Vader helmet, complete with Darth sound effects, and held a sign that said, "I am your father."  The video is hysterical.  It was good to see Claire laughing so hard I thought wet pants were imminent.  I am working on figuring out how to post the video, but at this point it is upside down. Sadly, this first grade teacher is not quite tech-savy enough to figure it out.  In any case, it was exactly the type of silliness that makes me beam so much my dimples ache.

On another note, Roz will be submitting the t-shirt order on Monday.  If you would like one, please e-mail her by tomorrow.  Shirts are $20.  If your order requires shipping, please add an extra $5.  Thanks!!!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for supporting my dear friend.  Thank you for your kind thoughts, sweet wishes, unending prayers, as well as the rest.  In my heart, I truly believe that this cancer demon completely screwed up when it chose to mess with Erin.  With her amazing support system, her incredible medical team, and her devoted family, she will win....  I just know it.
